what the ---- happened to the hf boost gauges?

I will prob just grab a autometer my buddy has a couple from cars he has bought an ----. Want to go as cheap as possible

Forum classifieds are the only place to buy gauges. A lot of mechanical boost gauges I've seen (even brand new) are inaccurate to some degree. A decent ECU and some datalogging with a MAP sensor to figure out just how "off" your gauge might be is practically mandatory no matter how much money you spend.
I've had a Stewart Warner and 2 Autometers that showed up to 3psi off towards the edges of the range of the gauge... but I new exactly how far they were off.

Went to I reillys today and they actually have boost gauges for 24.99. So when I actually decide to buy one and stop buming one that's where I will go
