What does it take to swap a Bseries into an EG 92-95 civic????
I've done a ls/vtec swap into a 93 civic before, inwhich the car was previously an AUTOMATIC, and the 5spd tranny that I put in was a cable tranny so I didn't need to move any body mounts or the like.
I was just wondering now that I have a 94 5pd coupe that I'm putting a ls/vtec in now I've heard that the top tranny mount will not bolt up to where the stock body mount is, is this true?
Also, what top timing belt do I need to use? The year Integra the motor came out of, or my civic's?
thanks guys

the tranny mount works. you can use either the integra one or civic one, its the same thing. as far as the timing belt you would use the one that applies to the water pump you use, if you use a gsr water pump use a gsr belt. if you use an ls water pump use an ls timing belt

Re: What does it take to swap a Bseries into an EG 92-95 civic????
the problem is not the tranny mount, its the hanger on the body, automatics sat back further and at an upward angle, manuals sit about an inch forward and flat as the framerail.
solution: drill the spot welds, remove hanger, buy $35 replacement hanger, weld in place.
after that the stock d series upper tranny mount will bolt right up.
mounts work like this...
upper engine - re-use from d series (if its the 3 hole billet alum one)
upper tranny - re-use from d series
lower tranny tq mount - use d series outer bushing part, mated with inner part from dc integra
lower engine/ac mount - use d series outer bushing part, mated with inner part from dc integra
rear T mount - dc integra

did this swap on my buddys cx wit a b18b vtec wasnt that much of a bitch as far as the swap was concerned, especally if you had to do a swap on a grand am for your first swap

otherwise you're going to have to so some sort of conversion to it, probably some pedal changes, probably have to modify a hole in the firewall, or see if hasport makes a hydro to cable, i know they make one the other way around.

Lastly, I've got linkage to go along with this all from the 90-93 Integra's, Does anyone know if it will be the right length? or if it will be a little short/long? thanks guys for all the help.

And get which replacement hanger, one for auto or 5spd? Also, from my last swap I used a 99-00 civic Si T-mount so that should work fine again for me. but just curious about the above mentione'd??
As for the tranny mount. The actual mount that bolts to the tranny are the same in D and B series, the hanger has to be changed from auto to manual either way.

alright, thanks. since my coupe that I'm doing this to is a manual already maybe I'll just re-locate the old bracket, or if worst comes to worst but a new manuel one. As far as the T goes...... I'll only find out when it come's time I guess, unless someone on here has both the 94+teg and Si T to measure for me. thanks
