alright, for xmas my mom and i are getting my brother a new car. he is currently driving a 99 jeep wrangler. my sister and i both had it before him, but its not getting kinda shitty. he has been talking about getting a new car for a while now. at a dealership we know, they will take our jeep in on trade for 7500. they had a 2000 civic si there, red with 91k miles on it. before we took it for a test drive they went over it and changed the wheel bearings, and water pump and timing belt. the paint is all scuffed up on the bumper too. There original price for it before they fixed all this was 9k. then after they did all the changes they want 10800. when i test drove it the clutch was slipping so bad, every gear when you shifted hard it would slip and in fourth once vtec kicked in it slipped all the way to redline.
Personally i like the car because i like hondas. my dad doesnt cause he likes audis.
If they change the clutch they are definetly gonna ask more than 10800 which i personally think is a little high. What would you guys pay?

I think because the clutch is sliping you have the uper hand.They arent going to let you walk away.Play hardball with those ----------ers.Low ball them and see what they say.Then work your way up from there.

remeber the dealer needs you more than you need them. Its really hard now since its the winter to make a sale. Like raffi said play hardball. If the price was first 9k say you'll only pay 10 no less. They in no way should up the price for fixing a clutch thats bullshit. Nobody wants to buy a car thats not working right. They should fix that for free

kelly blue book says 11k for a 00 with that mileage, but that seems so high for that car. me and my mom are gonna figure it out tomorrow cause we need for xmas, its his onl gift

here in florida I see them with high miles for 7-8. I don't think it's worth more than 9 really. They should let you have it for the original price.

i think yall should sell the jeep in the classifieds instead of trading it. you could use that money to get a nicer vehicle than what a dealership will give you. cuz dealerships will ALWAYS try to ---- you over. its how they make money.

i traded my 99 jeep grand cherokee for a 99 civic sedan dx.
i was at a loss because if i had sold that jeep by myself i could have gotten 11-12k but the dealership traded it outright for a 9.5k car

i wish i could go back and sell my jeep in the classifieds and get 11k for it. man id have a ------ bad *** little car for that much

just tell him you looked in the value price and its not worth more than 9. even print out the page and show him and see what he says. I wouldn't pay more than that.
