I'm EXTREMELY fortunate in this regard...I rent my house from my stepdad...It's a pretty nice 3bdr/2btr house that's in a decent neighborhood and is like 5 miles from my job...I pay $250 a month...I hope to try and buy the place in the future...

$565 for a 2 bdrm apt. right now

buying a house in the near future. 3bd, 2bath. I'll be looking at around 1100-1500 a month.

High desert, housing is pretty cheap still

$570/mo for a 1 bedroom apartment. Last place I lived was $605 for a 3 bedroom place. It's high for a 1 bedroom place, but you get what you pay for and I like living somewhere without a bunch of loud theiving nogs.

Getting a house when this lease ends. Houses are cheap in alabama

Wife does pretty good, and I was a union laborer(now stay at home dad) We are making it, but it sucks. And with the housing market the way it is the outlook isn't much better. Nothing is selling right now and houses are going into foreclosure left and right. We are trying to not let that happen, but I imagine eventually we will have to give up on our old house. We are hoping the mortgage company will work with us and do a short sale or deed in lue of foreclosure, but we are really hoping it will just sell. It was my first house and I bought it when I was 20. We had decided to not move for a few more years and did a refi and consolidated some payment. Then found a house we feel in love with by accident.
Here is out old house

Almost wish we did qualify now, but we really like where we are now. Moved to a small historic town about 25 minutes from anything. Kids have a great school to go and the air is clean. I have a huge yard and a big pole barn to mess around in.
So if anybody ever visits New Harmony, IN (doubt anybody here will unless they are over the age of 60) stop in and say Hi. I live across the street from the Labyrinth.
