How do sites like that really know what town and ---- your from, Im not that good with the intraweb

i think its javascript. but yea its kinda creepy when you goto **** sites and its says "MEET WOMEN FROM (insert town here) WAITING TO MEET YOU!" on that page if you just leave it open for like a minute it goes to the regular site
