Default Which welder is the best for the job

Im looking into getting a welder so that I can start doing my own work. Which welder is better for automotive jobs a mig or a tig? Im planning on making my own manifold and welding charge pipes and such. Thanks

tig is always gonna make nicer welds mig is kinda moron proof

tig is nice, it makes awesome beads. but welding with mig is stronger and faster. also for beginners its easier.

Thanks for the imput. Probably go with the moron proof welder lol. But got to check prices, know someone that sells them that I can get a discount from.

get a miller m200
dont cheap out when it comes to welders, u spend the money for a good one itll last u a long time.

I got mine from Menard's it was like 260 bucks, and it came with all the ---- to hook up either gas or use a flux-core wire (crappy).

Even with flux core, though, if I take my time it makes some strong ------- welds, and its easy-like pulling a trigger and spraying metal on wherever you want it.
