Default welder

Well i got a little change in my pocket this month and i need to buy a welder. I know if i want somethin nice then id save up and buy a 700$ miller or lincoln and use it the rest of my life. I just need a buzz box for awhile. Has anyone used this unit offered by harbor freight? I will be getting a gas kit to. Only thing i need it for is manifolds and dp and such. nothin that looks real good or has to support 500 pounds.

I was lookin at a real nice one from sears but nothing good last.

Matt, my brother uses the lincon weld pack that you can get at sears for like $300 with the conversion kit, and he welds everything with that thing. I would consider that. It might be worth the extra buck.

I love my HF welder. Flux core wire only but it was only 80 bucks. I've already earned its cost back by making my own dp and the dp of others. And remember that the welder u linked to is 230v

That would be a great welder with the gas though.
IMO the best bet is to try and find a good used one locally

my only advice is whatever you get, go with something gas/wire feed that runs on 220v. 220v is the way, not as portable tho.
