Re: are we all setup to fail from birth???
its ok if people have a religion...EVEN THOUGH IT CAUSES ALL WARS....but for people to collect money with it is a shame. plus i have seen too many people that are gung-ho about it, and end up completely crazy!!! i guess im agnostic..searching for something to beleive in...but don't beleive the ---- that is going on now. no way im crazy like tom cruise with the scientology ---- the way he describes it!!
anyways, i was up till 6:00 AM one morning, and this "preacher" was trying to sell jesus bread. "it was made by the same methods and recipe as taught by the bible." if you take a bite, you are "guaranteed to come across a sum of money in the near future."
it gave me a chuckle, so i wrote down the number and called it 1-800-810-6249. dude even sounds like a scumbag. he doesnt ask for $$, but asks for your address. im sure he will rob you or send ---- to you. what an -------
so back on the question, we are all flawed. actually, even if we aren't flawed, someone in your life is there to flaw you whether you want it or not

Religion is for the weak, people that are extremely religious are either people that look for help when "---- hits the fan" or people that are easy to manipulate and like to lie to themselves.

Actually the accounts of the book of Genesis are a little screwy, and a little backwards at times. When you put the "timelines" in order, you have God as el numero uno and Lucifer as numero dos. He was like God's right hand man, best friend type deal and he got cocky and tried to overthrow the big honcho. God got pissed, tossed Lucifer and his minions out of heaven and "into a lake of fire", and then decided to create the earth and Adam and Eve. So according to the Bible, God didn't send Lucifer here to test Adam and Eve, he was pretty much free to roam around anywhere he pleased except for heaven with all his demon buddies.
All in all it makes for a semi-ok bedtime story, the part that always bothered me was after Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel and Cain killed Abel it says Cain left the area and moved somewhere else and found a wife. WTF did this other woman come from if Cain and Abel were the only "2" children Adam and Eve had up to this point? Either someone botched the story or there's some major incest goin' on there.

ninja edit?
Also,
Wrong. :1 Just most wars :P
Those types should be strung up by the ***** and left to die. They're just playing on the idiocy of people. And hey, it works.
Also I think giving to a church is a good thing you should do, and I personally believe God said 10% so the church would only have enough to live on and not so much as to corrupt them. Mind you, churches were never intended to be as huge as some are
Serious part:
slo, you got it all wrong. Did you know that Judaism doesn't subscribe to the fall of lucifer and the angels?
The story of the revolution started by Lucifer, being thrown out of Heaven, etc was not taken from the old testament. Strange, huh? Regardless they don't even believe that Lucifer is "evil" per se. In Judaism as far as I know (any jews out there, if I'm wrong, correct me) its taught that Lucifer is not an enemy of God, but an ally, and he's supposed to steer people off course from their walk with God to make it stronger or something along those lines?
Also with Genesis there's a lot of information left out. For one thing, you're assuming that cain and abel were the only children of adam and eve at that point. It never explicitly states that they only had those two at that point, but that those two are the only ones being talked about, since if you believe in the story, that is the first murder in history, pretty important. In some accounts adam and eve had dozens of children, its just not in the Bible. Maybe it was considered irrelevant to the story and thrown out? Who knows. Also, with him finding a wife, it never specifies the length of time either. According to the old testament Adam lived to ~930 years, cain would've had plenty of time to find a wife.
And yeah, some incestual bs wouldve had to go on at some point. Kinda creepy.
