Default Water Injection

Hey.... has anyone had any success intalling, fabricating, or using this type of setup on your engine besides lowering the combustion chamber temperature to prevent premature detonation.... is it true that it cleans your combustion chamber if anyone has ever tried this let me know what type of setup you had... and how well it worked... and would you recomend it based on your findings

Thanks...

Ive built a few systems for my cars and friends cars. I personnaly think they're awesome to have. I run windshield washer fluid not water. I use ww fluid because: it wont freeze, its about 40% alcohol, has anti corrosive agents. I installed a system on a new engine and ran it about 60,000 miles, I decided I wanted a better cam, when i tore down the engine there was no sign of carbon in the combustion chamber, on the spark plugs or on the valves and seats.

I got the Aquamist 2S in my 93 MR2 Turbo with an upgraded turbo; GT25R. The nozzle is 6" from the throttle body and spray a fine mist of 50/50 mixture of distilled water and methanol. The methanol is use to prevent the water from freezing and it also boost the octane of the gasoline. WIth this setup the car is insanely fast at 20 psi of boost on a stock motor. The intake manifold is warm to the touch.

hydrolocked engines and a small amount of fine water mist are VERY different things..

this stuff is very good, i will be using it on my 5 gt turbo
when its back out of hibernation/restoration

there is a 5 gt turbo in the uk that was detonating at 23psi, with water injection the boost is now at 30psi with no signs of detonation

(another similar specced 5 turbo made 292 bhp @ wheels .. not bad for a pushrod 1400cc shopping car)

Correct me if im wrong but i think water injection reduces hp but the benefit from it is that you can run more boost or wilder crap which in turn results in more hp at the end?

it cools the charge, supressing detonation thus allowing you to run more ign advance/boost

so indirectly it does, but not by its self
