12.9 with only 180hp and cornering at 1.7g's... is that a car or a shifter kart?

Check out volkswagens FSi technology for something similar in concept to the fuel vapour technology.

Nothing new here, its a d15b with three stage vtec and lean burn mapping!

They must use the lean burn when its not boosting hard.

I'm still amazed at the 1993 honda civic vx. It was ahead of its time in my mind because it still gets better fuel economy than a 2005-06 VW Golf TDi even though gas is 10 cents per liter more than diesel.

Don't forget that gasoline has less BTU's per gallon than diesel fuel.

gasoline = 125,000 BTU per gallon
Diesel = 140,000 - 145,000 BTU per gallon

And it still gets better mileage than a TDI

Ya they are probably kind of hard to find now that they are getting older. They are all probably rusted out or not for sale.
