Default V8 Single or twin...?

Anyone here done any simple turbo set ups on any V8's? Also, maybe your take on a single or twin set up? I kinda like the idea of twin, well just cuz it looks great, but also because its a V8 and you have 2 headers/manifolds. but on the other hand, I've seen so many really fast single turbo'd small blocks... Thanks in advance

Well it's not set in stone.......but, I do have a 383 stroker(well i guess a 389 or so, its bored .40 over instead of .30) but not sure that'd be a good base....
A small block chevy i'm thinking, maybe a newer block that'll take the vortec heads, for the flow/maybe a bit lighter....

I have seen a Datsun z car with a twin turbo 350 in it, they used rams horn manifolds off a corvette. Flipped them so the turbo was a top mount. Chopped the collector off about three inches then welded a t3 collector to it. It looked great. If you use properly sized turbos you shouldn't notice any difference in lag between twin smaller turbos or a large single. Way back there was a 3rd gen firebird/trans am that was HMT front page for a while that was running flipped manifolds. He had to cut holes in the hood to clear part of the turbo, looked bad ***.

If you ditch the 383 and run a gen 3 motor (LS1, LS6, LQ4 all have the same block dimensions) several people have swaped the left and right stock truck manifolds so they exhaust to the front of the car, then build a crossover pipe with the collector in the middle and run a huge single turbo. The stock truck manifolds are good for BIG power, upwards of 1000rwhp.

ya, right on! Ya i fukn love the look too, i seen a 68 camaro with a twin turbo set up, and about half of each turbo stickin outta the hood, damn!
But some things i've been looking for additional info on.....
I've heard it's less "user firendly" with using a carb instead of fuel injection, but i'm not down with that, don't have the cash.....i really just want to run a simple cheap set up....
if i use the 383, i'm told it should be nearing the 450hp range, and just wanna throw a bit more into it....(keith black hypereutectic <-spelt right?, lol, 40 over pistons, machined iron crank, stock 5.7in rods, pioneer flywheel/harmonic balancer-balanced, edelbrock rpm intake, and the block is a blown(up) 350 crate motor punched to 355

If i don't go the fuel injection route, what am i lookin at for a simple set up?(sorry i'm no turbo expert, hence me being here and askin the questions...)
ya i'd probably be using modified manifolds/headers
then the turbo/s, piping, an intercooler, boost controller, BOV, exhaust....(i know i'm missin stuff) would it be harder going the carb way?

I've never done a carb turbo setup, so i don't know everything that is involved. But from what i have read is it can be a pain. You will need to use a special carb for a blow through setup Turbo-Carb-Intake, there are shops that modify holly carbs to be used with forced induction. If you want make a suck through setup, Carb-Turbo-Intake, you can use a normal carb but then you have to figure out how to mount the carb because you cant put it on your manifold. Also with a draw through setup you probably dont want to use an intercooler because there is a chance the fuel will fall out of suspension and condense in the intercooler. Personally Im a huge fan of Megsquirt, i am running it on a 280zx with great results and gathering parts to instal it on my 88 LXi accord.
