Re: USB OBD2 scantools
i found the elm scan 5 scan tool a while back, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RWEL9M?...8QXS5FWK6W3ZT&
Im looking for basic diagnostic uses, but the pcmscan seems to be more usefull if not more visualy friendly. however it costs $100 more..
Has anyone hurd or used the elm scan 5 scan tool? i dont think it has the guage style interface, but dose provide real time speed, rpm, air flow, temp etc...
Post eddit...
The elm scan 5 scan tool that is on the link above is the hardware piece that allows the conection from the car to the laptop. with that purchase you receive a standard software package, that includes the trial version of teh pcmscan. You can get the licensed update for 78$ or something close to that.
Might be cheaper to purchase thru the link above, then just buy the license afterwards.

Re: USB OBD2 scantools
highroller-my problem with it is it's slow refresh rate, the constant "we'll add that feature at the next update" and never seeing it, and the scope isn't a true scope...it doesn't give you a real scope pattern it gives you a "deciphered" pattern which may or may not be really what is going on plus it's like 5 seconds behind.
oh and...
if that site doesn't allow direct img links then ---- off...
