Anyways, more than likly it just sounds like your car needs a tune up. Do all the basic ---- plugs/filters (wires if needed) Do a few more tests before you really think your only getting 200 miles per tank.

As you can see average dsm gets around 20-23 which is about what I normally got when I was boosted using dsm 450's as well. It all really depends on how you drive too.

ha ha I love driving a geo metro and crx si (soon to be boosted) great gas milage all the time!! Maybe you are running rich, injectors could be leaky I don't know try some fuel system treatment, check plugs, wires all those goodies you probably just need a tune up, ohh yea check tire pressure sometimes that drops gas mileage, HTH...Matt

I didn't buy the car FOR gas mileage, I bought it cuz I love DSMs and needed a car. When I popped the hood and found out it was a turbo, I had to to have it. Anyway, the guy I bought it off didn't tell me the oil needed changed but I decided to do it anyway, cuz I wasn't sure. I'm glad I did tho. The car was probably sitting for 4-5 months before I bought it. (Rotors are warped Power mirrors wont work, and a bunch of other BS i gotta fix)When I pulled the plug, the 10w30 poured out like milk and even though there was nothing visibly wrong with it, anyone could see it was past its life. I refilled with 10w40 because I debated with the other 2 kids in my school with turbo's and they said their next oil change would be higher than 10-30 and because they're running 10w30 with a thickening additive to keep the turbo lubed. So anyway, I changed the oil. Here in a few, I'm gonna check/clean the air filter, even tho it's freezing ***** outside. I think my TPS is going bad. When I put in in park or neutral (yes, tis unfortunately the auto) it revs to 1300 then drops to 900, then repeats for about 2 minutes, then it will be at the normal idle 700-800 rpm. Any ideas? But yea, I didnt buy the car for gas mileage, but I did want to get atleast 20. My cadillac (95 STS) had a 300 HP V8, weighed like 2wice my DSM and still got 26 mpg highway. Another thing... Assuming this car got all of it's scheduled maintnence, how much boost is safe for the stock engine...even with 152k miles? Thanks to all who replied my first post, even the ******** that called the n00b gay.
