i babied the ---- out of it on purpose. i only floored it like 4 times. this was all cruising down the highway

i expect low 20s city/highway boosted. it'll definatly help.

i believe ted was getting about 17mpg in his truck and it was a hotter motor

oh and the bomber also has a quadrajet which are very good on fuel

which s10s? the 4 bangers get almost 30mpg and the 4.3l vortec are mid 20s

dad has an 850cfm rochester on a 455 pontiac that gets about 5 mpg. but then again, thats with like a 4.88 rear end and a 4 speed. no problem goin up hills in that ride, or doing burnouts in 4th gear either.

Why not go with Vortecs?

Are you getting the fuelie heads for dirt cheap or something?

if you get the vortecs only a handfull of co.s make carb manifolds to fit em cause of the weird way the bolt on the head..and there ezpensive you pay almost as much for a manifold as you will the heads ..

You can always look around for a used one.

Eh, if you are getting the other heads cheap enough and they already have hardened seats installed, then it will be cheaper to go that route then.

The Vortecs are superior to the old fuelie heads in pretty much every aspect.
