Default Turbo parts finally arrive, WTF this wasn't in the pictures, need help. Pic's!

Well I finally got my semi "built" Y8 swap done in my 91 Civic SI. So I decide what the heck, lets go turbo. So I find some good deals on matching parts.

I got a nice ceramic coated log style manifold from SpoolinPerformance.com off of Honda-Tech, only ran $100 shipped (he made a mistake and made the external wastegate arm about half an inch to long, so with a external wastegate it bumps the radiator hose. [lucky for me I'm just using an internal gate]. I then found a "new" ("1000 miles") T3 Super 60 turbo on Honda-Tech for $116 shipped. Come on over here and bam, a great T3 downpipe from Whiterice for $50 shipped.

Manifold came in, looks nice, just as pictured/descibed.
Downpipe comes in, looks good, same as described. Even had some extra pipe included.
Turbo comes in, open it up, give it a quick one over, looks ok.

Well the turbo came with the factory downpipe flange bolted on, but the downpipe from Whitey has it, so I was like ok I can take this off. Well first off the bolts are on so freaking tight it's crazy. A couple are cross threaded and the bolts come out with the nuts. Well then one comes out and I'm like WTF Half the freaking bolt is in the turbo still . The guy also cut part of the intake part to clear something. So I'm like ok, need to still fit everything togehter to make sure it all fits. Fits nice, start taking downpipe off and inspect exhaust side of turbo to see a crack coming from each side of the hole.

Ok so my question is can this all easily be fixed? How much? Can you find any info on this turbo, I can't find anything. Here are the pics.

the exhaust housing bolts like that always get FUBAR'ed when you try to take them off, always. That crack is normal and i personally wouldnt worry about it too much. Do you have the piece to the compressor housing? You can run the turbo as is but id JB weld that piece back onto the compressor housing.

Nope don't have that piece from the intake side. Wasn't too worried about it, I mean it has enough that the pipe/filter will still grip on it tight. Was more worried about the cracks. Can you JB weld that kinda stuff, or does it get too hot?

that crack is common but that crack is bigger then i've seen, i';d keep an eye on it. it looks like its going into the main part of the housing

you can use jb weld on the compressor housing but not the exhaust housing. Id bitch about the broken compressor cover if he didnt say anything about it but the exhaust crack happens in the same place on pretty much all T3s and is normal so oh well.

Can they put some welds on to help hold it so it won't crack more?

yes you can try to weld it, i guess it depends on how much it bothers you. You must grind it perfectly flat so that the wastegate flapper wont leak afterward

Well I mean I don't want it to keep cracking and ruin the turbo. Will a couple of spot welds on the cracks keep it from cracking more?

Get your money back, dont accept broken parts then take on the cost of fixing them and fixing the problems they cause down the road

Just get it fixed right now, the crack on the exhaust might not make a difference, my t3 has one a bit smaller, as long as its flat it should be alright
