Default Tunes for the new car

Need advice for some car stereo things from my new civic.

It has a shitty Sony Xplode stereo now with a 6 disc cd changer and stock speakers. I think they're 6 1/2" in the doors and rear. I want a head unit that I can plug my iPod into since I don't use CDs anymore. What should I buy? Keep it within 300 bucks preferably. I'd rather not get a sub, so keep that in mind.

1) Go to ghetto
2) Find pawn shop
3) Whole system under $300.

I should do that... except pawn shops in Minneapolis are sketchy as hell. I'm better off staying with my current system.

Alpine has a few decks for ~130 that have iPod adapters that I was thinking of getting. It would be nice to just leave my iPod in the glove box and be able to do everything from the head unit.

I had an iTrip once and it sucked *****. I ended up buying some Infinity Speakers and an Alpine deck with an iPod attachment. Never have to remove it from my glove box

I would recomend Kenwood decks. you can get Reman's from amazon for dirt cheap. Im rockin a color screen excelon 700 something or another and it ------- rocks. had it for about 2 years and never had one problem with it, does have aux input for disk changer or Ipod, will play MP3 cd's, HD radio, and has a wanna be gtech in it. Mine tells you how many G's you pull under acceleration and cornering. I wouldnt buy the deck cause of the wussy G meter thingy but its a cool feature.

I think its this one.

Best advice ever. Just make shure the stereo has Auxilary imput RCA jacks. Dont listen to Steve. The only thing you will pind at pawn shops are pull out stereos with forward only :P
