Jefferson Davis was speaking before the US Congress on the moral and economic evil that was Slavery a decade before the South seceded from the union, and he became the Confederate President. The Civil War was the last gasp of State's Rights, as evinced by their labels aka the UNION vs the Confederated (associated) States. The Confederacy was a morally correct institution.

But, no, everyone says Lincoln freed the slaves... so they could come North and be pressed into slavery by the Northern slave states. That's morality right there. :1

I digress, but it's very telling of "how things go" with politics. Similarly,to digress again, in the recent 2nd Amendment-related threads... I would be all for somewhat strict gun control registration, tracking, control, if it weren't for the fact that the realy ------- liberal ******* (you know, the 5% of people that RS hates, that everyone else hates and has good reason to hate) would use it as a stepping stone towards disarming the population to no good end.

Apparently you're an idiot. You really think that age alone qualifies contemptuos behavior and null productivity simply because it's inherent in a specific cultural group?

That's bullshit. If you were to say that, young people have less of a concrete set of values than an older person simply because they haven't gathered much life experience to go off of, I would assume you have the intuition of a bag of ---- as do most of the "younger generation(s)".

That's like saying that if you poison the collective knowledge it's not going to have an after effect in the culture. Being lied to and never testing hypothesis leads to bad logic:

Read up dickless, I'm not talking about socialist welfare programs that cater to a lazy and ill informed populace.

Ayn Rand has a vagina and is therefore automatically disqualifed from being good at anything, especially thinking. Not to mention the laissez-faire overtones disqualify her from this arguement on the basis that anything French automatically fails.

I'm going to get up every morning at 8 am, drop the kid off at school, come back home and drink coffee with the woman until she leaves at 1:15 pm, then surf the hell out of the internet until I pick the kid up at 30. After that I may stay home and cook dinner, or I may go out for as long as three hours to work on a car before coming home and cooking dinner.

I posit that if everyone works at least as hard as I do, the economy will fix itself.

Lol, actually you said that we are "overly saturated with young people in need of an education to form values" or whatever, you just stated the point i was originally trying to make.

You First--

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reciprocal_altruism
In evolutionary biology and evolutionary psychology, reciprocal altruism is a form of altruism in which one organism provides a benefit to another without expecting any immediate payment or compensation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altruism
Altruism is selfless concern for the welfare of others

You may not have been talking about programs that cater to a "lazy and illinformed public" but they are still socialist welfare programs, in the link you posted regarding reciprocal altruism it says that its not unconditional and that the giver should expect something in return, well if you look at social security (which is what i mentioned) you and i can expect to pay into that system for our entire lives and can expect to recieve nothing in return for it, so again i say to hell with your bullshit, sounds nice but works like ----.

know of any place to find them? That sounds like a really good research project, I remember being taught that the Civil War was fought to end slavery but yea i think it was more to do with property and other things but honestly I haven't read much into the Civil War.
