Dont you think that the fact that they caught him trespassing is reason enough to check his car? Specially after all the 9-11 hype and terrorost stuff?(not saying he's a terrorist but you know how"securitt these days are because of the past event).
If you see someone inside your house and he runs away and leave his car..wouldnt you check his car to see if he put something yours in there, or would you ask poice to search the car for your stuff? Kind of the same thing here.

yeah but they had no proof it was his car though. What they should have done was waited to see if he came back to his car and if not imnpound it or write a ticket. You can't check to see if its someone car if you don't know who it is. They had to wait first then search not the other way around. Thats violation. What if it was someone else car? He could have walked to the park instead of driving there they dont know
