The recall states Automatic Transmission, but read further, its actually a problem with the t-case...

well i dont think its my tranny anymore i think its coming from my motor know that i can see in day light, but the noise seems to be coming from the engine and when i rev it up the boost gaughe dont move or anything.....do u thinmk the motors shot?

1. ) Alright first off there was absolutely no recall on the DSM transmissions. It was on the TRANSFER CASES. Which a goddamn 90 Laser wouldn't have since they were not made AWD untill 92.
2.) You didn't really say if you reconnected the damn linkage
3.) If the noise is stopping when you push the clutch in that would point to your flywheel either having some bolts backed off of it probably.
4.) Cars don't build boost in neutral unless you have some sort of stutterbox/2step.
5.) after re-reading and seeing it has a act2100 I'd definetly venture to guess that it is the flywheel bolts backing off and hitting the disk.
