tranny prob on 1990 laser turbo can anyone help me?

Default tranny prob on 1990 laser turbo can anyone help me?

yeah i was driving home today and i went to get on it i was in 1st i went to bang 2nd and it was like i missed sounded crazy but i lost 1 and 2 gear and when i got home i still had 3rd and 4th gear, but when i got home i looked at the linkage cables that connect to the tranny the one linkage was popped off the cotter pin flew out or broke, but the problem is now that the tranny makes a horrible noise when the clutch isnt in gauged and if the cars in neutral and you revv it up the tranny makes a noise what can this be? i have another tranny if this ones fucked and the car also has act 2100 clutch if that means anythign and the car is a 90 laser turbo fwd

There was a recall on the trans on those. Call the dealer and see if it has been done. You may get a free trans out of it. Age and miles dont matter of recalls by the way.

i dotn care about that i have another tranny i dotn care about goign thre all that for a new one i jsut want to kno what happened

ill check into it but i would of jsut liked to kno if someone might of known what the problem could be, with my tranny now

Maybe all the times you "banged" second. There not the most reliable cars to begin with. Did you put the linkage back on the shaft and replace the cotter pin? Does it make the sound in 3rd or 4th? What does it sound like with the clutch disengaged? More of a bearing sound or ---- just rattling around. Need to be a little bit more specific with a Dsm man. I would tear it down anyways.

i dotn always bang gears i just happened to do it yes i put the linkage on and replaced the cotter pins

The recall was on the t-case....
