sweet, you guys are crazy i read somewhere that this bike does a 1/4 mile in under 11 seconds, so far the only other bikes ive ever ridden are a 250cc cruiser from my riders class and my boys 250 ninja, but thanks a lot for the help fellas im going to try to get it

im not saying its not possible for a bike to last for hundreds of thousands of miles. on avaerage with a sport bike its going to need some major work at 50-60k

I have an '06 gixxer 600 and its a great bike. If all you want to do is run in a strait line go ahead and get a 1000 but the 600 is more than fast enough shooting through the twisties. My bike still has the ability to scare the ---- out of me. A 600 is a great bike if you have had some sort of riding experience such as off-road like dirt bikes, ect.
To be honest I wouldn't pay anymore than $2500 MAX. Get it and gear up!

This dudes a noob when it comes to bike and he wouldn't be able to tell the difference period. The Gixxer is a more comfortable bike all around...
