My friend's '86 GTS is one of my favorite cars to rip on. Yeah they suck ***** if you wanna drag race, but they love hitting corners, and they sip fuel. The beater '86 gets 40+ mpg.

They're nice light RWD cars, but they're terribly slow.
I'd like to get one some day to build a drag car. They were the last real cars (RWD) Toyota made for an affordable price.

I said it would make a great track car....copy paste

well, so there you have it. I said it would make a great treack car, and it would. it needs to be washed, and all that green stuff is NC pollen. nothing bad, you just wash it off. The interior was nice, just needs a shop-vac and armor-all taken to it. the pass side was clean, nothing like the driver side. The guy told me he drove it to where it sat, and thinks there is a set of cams in it. he said it ran really strong and compression test was awsome. he didnt remeber what it was but it was good(the car has sat for at least 1 year) it does need a new starter, thats why he couldnt start it for us....but there you go. for $800 its a steal I think.

My dad owns an 85 Celica Supra, the performance model or whatever. It's totally different car than an AE86, but it's light, not Honda light, but light, RWD, inline 6, so it can bust the tires loose pretty good. Plus the turbo manifold from the 86.5-1992 Supra is bolt on, 200+ horses and the Supra guys get rid of them all the time. Just another option...

----; that thing is molested.
I would NOT spend $800 on it unless i checked the mechanics out thoroughly. My friend has 2 ae86 corolla's; they're ugly and slow as ---- but they have their plus's. Personally I would not buy one... ever.. in a million years.. but i hate toyota and dont like that ricer markup that most corolla pricetag's have.

Calm down daughter! You know how many kids these days are like "Yea I'm going to get myself an AE86. Those things are BAD@$$. I saw it on Initial D, and it was hella COOL!" I didnt mean to generalize but there is some truth in it...
