Re: these people suck
Just rape their pockets with your hmt knowledge, instead of trying to teach them. if they don't want to learn for themselves, then they're worthless. Start a bmw "full race" but give it some Italian or German name, find weaknesses in these kits that they're buying and out engineer them with full stand alone management for 15-20k dollars. Throw in some stupid bells and whistles like recaro seats with your logo that's been embroidered and a new shift ****/boot.

Re: these people suck
They are saying the cost of a turbo install includes ALL tools, ALL knowledge, ALL schooling, etc etc... I say its about having friends who can weld, friends who have the right tools, friends who have a garage.. I'm broke and there isnt one piece on my car thats chinese made, everything else is either name brand or an OEM option on a different car (which is pretty damn good quality)
Oh yeah, and I dont consider clutch upgrade and other misc crap on the car (that cant handle the power) part of the turbo cost. Its the cost of making more power in general, not part of the turbo setup

RAWR that sounds like a pretty damn good idea! haha Now I just need to finish my engineering degree, buy a BMW and then start rollin in the money!
By the way... I have been thinking about picking up a 318 lately. I figure a boosted 318 may make a fun little track car.

Re: these people suck
You don't need an engineering degree for that, just act really haughty with things like extra badging, talk about how your parts are hand built and designed in house, don't involve yourself with drag racing in anyway, act like the cars are made for the track only, make ---- up about being tested on the Nürburgring. Euro **** eat that ---- up. There's all kinds of things you can do so those yups can act like they have something exotic to rub in their colleagues faces. You just need start up capital.

Re: these people suck
Yeah a hmt boosted 325 or 328 would be awsome to wipe the smirk off of all the M3 drivers faces. After cruizing around bimmerforums.com I agree it seems like they could give a ---- about a car unless its got M badges and AC Schnitzer all over the place.

Re: these people suck
Yea, most people on the IS forums rock the body kits, "halo eyes" bmw knockoff headlights and the like. Hell, the forum is practicly run by the few vendors that sell kits to everyone. I have not seen one HMT type settup on the IS....but a few on the bmws, there are a few around here from what I have read.
