someone told the popo you have stolen parts, and told them about the craigslist ads so they can go there and get you shook because you think they are investigating you because of how much they know about you already. basically they only need to be able to prove ONE thing in your garage is stolen and they will confiscate it ALL as stolen property, especially if you dont have proof of purchase or ownership.

ok here's what you did wrong man, if they didnt have a search warrant which im betting they didnt because they would have taken ---- they suspected to be stolen if they did, you should have respectfully answered their questions and told them to get the ---- off your property, respectfully lol
If anything you own happens to be stolen, even if you had no knowledge of it your fucked i mean think about it how much ---- do you have laying around you bought from people or yards that could have been stolen, you should have not let them search
the problem is innocent people get fucked all the time, the report look really bad if they charge your ***. Ps im sure you figured this out by now but if you have any ---- you bought from shady people or are just not sure about, now would be a very very good time to get rid of it

Find new car friends, or better yet, dont hang out w/ the shady ones. You know who they are.
Next time a detective comes to your house, politely refuse a search of your garage and car.
When they ask, "Why, what do you have to hide?", respond with, "I value my 4th Amendment rights, Im sure you would agree?". Then hand him a RonPaul08 bumper sticker, hahaha.
