Default Theregots to be an easier way..............

There has to be an easier way to change a fuel pump in a 90 accord than dropping the tank. does anyone know how? Cut the body maby? and make a plate to bolt back on over it to seal it? I soooo hate working with fuel.. i almost want to bring it someware and have them install it just so i dotn have to get all smelly. I dont mind getting dirty but smelling like gas is the worst. anyone have any ideas?

Are you kidding me? Man I live for that stuff. Roll around in gasoline all day and smoke a few packs while I'm doing so . I'm still here to post about it, now man up and drop that tank! Alright so I don't smoke and I don't like messing with fuel systems either but it's got to get done, and dropping the tank is the only way.

hmm how bad is the tank? If the tank is really really crusty you might wanna do it at the same time. A good trick for 90-97 accords is to drop the 4 bolts that hold that lower tie bar right behind the tank, then you can get up in there and unbolt the straps instead of having to cut them. They are bolted right to the chassis up in there. Then you gotta drop the tank down a few inches and undo the high pressure fuel line on the top and the sending unit. After you get all those other lines out (easy) it shouldnt be that hard to get out. If you have more than a few gal in the tank, might wanna drain it. Oh yeah, watch the openings where the pump and sending unit are in, those are razor razor sharp, dont stick your hand in them to pick up the tank (or at all)

no fuel pump cover. There is a cover for the sending unit though (sucks). 86-89 there is a cover for both. Changed my pump in 15 min and didnt smell like gas that much at all.
