he symbolizes the leadership of the catholic faith.... the pope is the predecessor of st. peter, who was one of the 12 apostles, and the first pope. In the bible it says how Jesus proclaimed Peter as the 'rock' of the church & that what he saw fit on earth, God would see fit in heaven.

WTF, they just elect a new pope? Am I the only one that sees something wrong with electing people to be God's supposed representative on earth?

the cardinals decide who the next pope should, for heck's sake they've been talking about how this stuff happens 24/4 on the news.

im not Catholic, but RIP John Paul II he was an ok guy
