well the teg got totaled by a f250 at idle. crushed everything behind the driver door.
looking, and found a 02 spec v for a good price.
gonna pick up where i left off on my old spec, this one will inherit the t3 and other stuff from its predecessor. about 8 psi and it will be fun, and good for low 13's.

i have already had two spec v's. i love them. i have been through the the precat b.s., and its a non issue with a header and midpipe.
neither of mine had door seal problems, or sunroof problems. never had anything scratch my windows. sounds like your friend got a wrecked car that was fucked back together.
and gas mileage, i have gotten over 300 miles to the tank a few times. and its a small tank. its a 13.2 gal. and the gauge hits the "e" with a gallon left. i brought it back from pennsylvania when i bought it and consistently back to alabama averaged between 27 and 31 mpg. which was right on par with the spec v i drove up there in to go get the other.
i know the qr through and through. all of its short comings and all its plusses. the car is fairly light, slightly gutted weighed 2480 with me in it. exhaust and intake it ran 14.1's all day at 98-99, cutting a 1.9 and 2.0 60'.
on boost a qr makes great power. even though 8 psi is all you can safely run on stock internals. a stock motor can make 300hp no problem. which with a good driver will run high 12's. on slicks.

downgrade from what? the 92 teg i am currently driving? the one that is totaled? with three broke wheels, leaking sunroof and hatch. has a broke motor mount. and the squeaks of a very hard 140,000 miles.

i am very familiar with the vq swap into the b15 chassis. but if i do it, which is more of a when, i am going with a vq30. shorter stroke more rev happy, and lots more aftermarket support for alot higher boost. and its a still a vq so i can still use my tranny with a bellhousing from a junkyard.
