Default Talon TSI vs. 240SX

If you were to get a new car out of these choices which would you pick?... And if the Talon a 1g or 2g?.. Can somebody help me with some Pro's/Con's, thanks guys

Also for the 89-93 240's, is it the SR20DET black or red top that drops in? Is ther e a stock TT engine? Was the Silvia from this generation?

Sorry about the stupid questions, always been a Honda guy, looking to extend my knowledge...

Thanks

for starters, it's the talon 'tsi' not 'sti' the 2g's look a lot better, but i believe the 1g's are a lot stronger and not as many problems (i.e. crankwalk), i dont' know too much about them though. as far as the 240, yeah, an sr20det will drop into the s13, which i believe was the 89-93, but an rb20det also drops in with just a diff. cross member i beieve. that's about all i know on the subject

Dsm's are known to be very cheap to modify and make fast. You could drop $500 on a tsi and get it running mid 13's. Although they are prone to mechanical failure. I am planning on getting a 1st gen when I'm done with the rex. Check out dsmtalk.com.
As for the 240, rear wheel drive kicks ***.

Your going to spend a lot more money to make a 240 as fast as a tsi or gsx but in the end the 240 might be more reliable imo.
Either way, I like both of these cars.

You're confused with the skyline motor - RB26DETT. The redtop is a silvia SR20DET single turbo. A very popular swap. The RB26DETT is too expensive.

i dont know much about the 240 and its tsi not sti. As far as dsm i go for the @nd gen. the engine not as powerful as the 1st gen and expect some common visit to the shop to fix your ride. But they are cheap to make fast though. You should be able to do some research online on the cars

He's not confused, you're confused, the R32 skyline motor is cheaper and makes more power than the Sr20, this is the RB20dett. then there was the R33 skyline motor, RB25dett, then the incredibly expensive R34 motor, the RB26dett. The first one is sweet because it is just as small as the Sr20, perfect for a swap, 6 cylinders, and makes more power. Check out www.night7racing.com for a lot more good info on 240 swaps.
