Default Symantec Corp-Norton anti-good for nothing

they can lick my ballls.............so yesterday my comp starts to act very werird slow as ---- taking 5 min to open a program, so i run a virus scan nothing came up so i was like ok....then i get a message later that i have a trojen virus so i was like ---- ill will do another scan and it finds like 200 errors so it said all problems fixed i was like good, then i re-start my laptop again and the ---- is running even slower so i do a system re-store with norton go back.........well thats when ---- hit the fan and almost my lap-top.......sorry no previous dates were saved....i was like wtf i did one about 3 months ago wtf is the problem...then i try windown system recovery it gets to about 50% completion and it freezes so i tried it again at a diff date same thing happens...so now im getting ready to throw this bitch out the window,

so 2day i try do a couple things to it, and it dose nothing i can only see my wall paper thats it nothing else comes up...so i hit ctrl alt-delete and luckly it brings up the task manager so i try to start Norton again and it said system fail please re-start...i re-start and do it all over again and the same things happens........................................... ...........so when i leave work today im going have to do wipe the whole comp clean and start all over again ..........there go's all my ---- for school, all my autocad drawings for my portfoilo................... :1 :1

so what have i learned?
1. dont pay ------ $80 for a peice of ---- software that hogs up your comp and dont run right.......
2. dont keep every important file on my HD..
3. dont wait to the last min to finish a project that is do 2morrow and the files i need is in photshop...

end of rant...........

Thats odd because that program came on my laptop and I have NEVER had an issue with it. It always detects the other stuff that other programs didn't.

you prolly didnt have system restore activated

also norton sucks unless you keep everything up to date... and even then its not fool proof

fool proof 80% of the time = hijackthis + diskclean up + bug off + spybot s&d

fool proof 100% of the time = leeeenux

Burn a linux live cd to boot onto (ubuntu is good), then burn all your important ---- to a disc. Problem solved.

I agree with Jago, I've always used Kaspersky or AVG.
