i'm a honda guy so no stake in this at all, but most/all of the reputable reviews i saw when the evo/sti came out rated the evo a better buy. not that either was particularly faster, but the evo handled better. rally drivers said it was very predictable and agile. since everyone on this site rallies, that's super important.. . that aside the evo base is a little cheaper than the sti last time i heard. my buddy has an '04 evo with full leather trim...that thing is spectacular. fast as hell. he already hit a fence rallying through a high school parking lot.

must be nice your high school buddy has an evo. how much did dad pay for that one.

I will never buy my kid a car. they never respect it. that post shows all to well. I will buy my kid a car to restore or fix up, but nothing like an evo. they will never respect it or appreciate it.

anyways, back to the topic, when it comes down to buyin one, (my day is gettin' closer) i am gonna drive both and go from there.

Exactly. When I have children, they'll get a car, but it won't be the best. $400 beater if anything. If they don't like it, too bad, you won't get a car now. My parents didn't spoon feed me with a first car, second car, or my next car. I have paid my way through everything, insurance, repairs.. I'm sure I'm better off than the kids at school who's parents buy them brand new cars and pay all their car expenses.

now watch later in the future your kids turn out to be the most respectable kids ever lol. I do understand buying them a car like an Evo. I would only help them with that if they came up with a huge down payment and had a job or if i was super rich. But I would by them a semi new car if they earned it. I've gone through tough ---- going to get a car never been helped so if i know my kid deserved one i get them one to save them the trouble

Also, my parents won't even co-sign a loan for me. Now, that I would do for my kids. But I guess this makes me work harder for whatever car I want, right? (Still sucks though lol)

I am the same way. my dad co-signed for me, but thats it. co-signing and buying are 2 differnet things.
