Default strut bars

does strut bars really work, or are they just there taking up space?
I ask this question because I've seen a 100's of 500whp+ civics without a strut bar. and I want to know it they just removed them just for the photo shoot, thats all. I have one installed but I am thinking of tossing it.

What can it hurt? It's good for a liftpoint when I didn't feel like using a jack to put stands.

Depends on the intent of purpose. For drag racing or auto-x? If it's for straight drag I doubt the frame is really twisting THAT much to have a loss but I hear they help somewhat in road racing aspects.

A good quality one that connects at three-4 points i imagine would help a bit anyways. They are kinda overpriced for what you get though

I have a ebay set, it was like $50 came with rear and front tie bars, front and rear strut bars, and c pillar bar.
I am only using the strut bars and the c-pillar bar, since I traction bar upfront, and anti sway bar in the rear .

if the strut bars make any sense to keep I will, but if they dont they will be scrap metal

Dude you bought so why not use them? Hell it's even an OEM part so they made them for a reason.

I don't think those ones make a damn bit of difference. Look how weak and flexible they are. How can that keep the body stable? I can just about break those cheap pieces of ---- in half with my hands. Honestly, I think a homemade job would be the best. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for anybody with minimal fabricating experience to make a set of those that would actually do some good.

Just keep those brackets and use something else instead of those flimsy aluminium bars. But just bolt them on...why throw them out? You paid money for them. Atleast get some use out of them. Just seems stupid to throw away 50 bucks like that.
