its has nothing to do with pride. People that are morons are morons.. Doesn't matter if they have a car or not. To stereotype everyone who likes cars the same as these morons who go out and kill people is not right. These stupid laws only punish the innocent. I used to race my moms stock thunderbird.. it was a solid 20 second car. I still raced it.. I race my freekin bicycle.. Should it all be illegal? Who is the government to tell me I can't drive a fast car.

i have to agree that the kid doesnt need to be charged with 2nd degree murder...but i would say more like 3rd degree murder/manslaugter charges cause he didnt really murder the kid....the kid decided to pull into on-coming traffic instead of slamming the breaks....or slowly applying brakes at the second he seen other cars around....the kid killed himself....its his stupidity...but the other kid sorta provoked him into it but not intentionally...its almost like when people ask on dr.kavorkian to help with assisted suicide...i dont know...im not an expert...i think it should just me manslaugter charges only....and take his license away for a year or two...

they're just talking all that ---- (2nd degree) to scare him and others, even with a half-*** lawyer, that ---- would never fly in court, prosecution may try to get it, but it will never happen, they're just trying to get a point across

I just have chills after reading news stories like that. I hate it too cause things like this is what makes people hate young kids that drive modified cars. I always think man that could have been me or someone I know. I know they are saying 2nd degree murder for the other driver but it will never fly. One of my friends killed three people in a high speed accident and he's only being charged with manslaughter, which in washington is only like 5 years. Not to metion he's not even in jail yet. By the time courts catch up to you it's been like a year. It just doesn't seem fare that these things happen and I hate thinking about how many stupid people do stupid things. But we have to realize that people die for other reasons too and it's out of our hands. Just if your going to race on the street, keep it safe and don't be stupid. Also be on the look out for other stupid-*** drivers out there.

Yeah, they made a bad choice... but there's thousands of different things like this per day... as far as highligting it to stand out like it's the worst dang thing that ever happened is stupid. This is why in 10 years modifying a car will be illegal.. which is one of those things that makes me the most upset. It's like "Gun Control"... don't get me started, I'll kill someone with a fork if need be.

Dr. Pep.. Good to see I'm not alone.. Guns don't kill people, I do! But seriously if they took away all the fast cars... kids will still race stock ----. Heck I almost got smashed by a non turbo eclipse trying to pass a guy. His car was really slow. So was his brain obviously.

Its sad really because these are isolated incidents that all add up... its like their just pouring more gasoline into the fire.... you know... looking for ---- to ---- with... Like when im at the light and I see a cop next to me... i dont want to have to sit all upright and hold the steering wheel at 10 and 2oclock and drive like an old lady just so i dont get pulled over.... these guys are going to make our lives a lot harder because cops dont care if you dont street race... they see your car and they stereotype... just like you might think all cops are dicks... well theres some good ones (ones who just gave me warnings instead of tickets) but anyways i hope that this kind of ---- wont ever happen to any of you guys... think about it... this kids life is fucked.... why because he had something to prove... well you have to be responsible for your own actions... we all know that...
