Still alive.... a lil update on everything w/ lots of PiCs :)
I haven't spent much time on here but a lot has changed in the past few months or more that I haven't posted.
I eneded up putting a larger fuel pump in the sunfire and cranking the boost up to 10 psi, felt great until the turbo went kaplooie (I guess i overspun the lil thing) So I replaced it with a larger turbo and again cranked up the boost to 10...damn it felt better. Its a T3 48/60 60 Trim...well anyways two days later I broke a ringland whoopsie.
Here are some pics though...
old turbo
New turbo
Also notice the Stainless log mainfold...
Had to make a new downpipe for this setup
I have no doubt at the 10psi I was running that it was in the 13's but have no proof lol, nor will I even know because I moved onto something new.
I decided that instead of building a forged engine on the sunfire that I would rather have a car with all power options, a manual transmission and GM's newer ecotec engine.
So I found exactly what I wanted an 02 cavalier Ls Sport... This particualr car was only made for half a year before they changed body styles. They made z24's with the same engine as my sunfire up until mid year and then swapped to the eco. The next year the body style changed.
I know most of you are honda boys but I've seen this engine take some pretty decent power/boost with very few mods. I must refrain from modding it until i pay off my credit cards but that will come by spring I beleive.
When I first brought it home...
I hated the pinsptring moudlings and emblems so some work I did the other night...
After:
Nice spot for an intercooler eh
I'm definitely staying away from the body kit stuff on this car. I wanted to autocross and actually lower the car. All your going to see on this is suspension, engine and brake modifications. A few small exterior things but nothing that noticeable or costly. Again like my sunfire this car willl be turbocharged and I cant wait to do it. Its fun to drive, the eco is a peppy engine as it is. I'll get some base track times soon and my first autoX event is on the 26th of this month.
Also the sunfire had 144k on her and stuff was starting to go wrong. I still have to put a new engine in it and sell it. This cavalier only has 18k on it and I still have some of the factory warranty left.
I realize there are many new faces here who probalby have no idea who I am.... this site seems to have changed some. Although I thought I'd share my updates and mention I am still alive.

I remember the big mouth sunfire. Good luck with the Cav. Nice to see differnet projects. Also nice to see someone not worshiping the H.........(all though I always will!)

Congrats on the new car man. I saw one of these in a funny car, all stock internals, ran a mid 7 I believe I've actually looked into getting this same car to turbocharge, they look like they'd be a very good engine to do so in.. Good luck with it man, nice to see you around again.

Your speaking of the cav drag car, yes it runs 7's but its far from stock.... although the block is stock thats about the only thing. All the other parts are all GM parts you can order. They actually have a book on how to make a 1000hp ecotec, ---- i have that book i forgot to take a look at it dammit. Thanks for the reminder
This engine truely does have a lot of potential, I'm anxious to see what I can do with it. Just having a manual trans is a ton of fun as it is.
Finally GM stepped up to the B18, I feel this is our best comparison. I know of a few building full stand alones with forged internals on this motor.... and I simply can't wait to see thier results.
This car is going to be a sleeper and a half by the time I'm done.... I can assure you of that
