HIGHLY debated. I have heard slam it Post WO then I heard no more than 25g any time because that's all it can absorb. It should absorb it eventually so the bodyweight in protien is the given rule of thumb.

It is best to split your meals into 5 meals a day. Not small ones by any means. I'd recommend trying for 3000-4000 cals. Here's a setup of protein to carb you should get per meal based on a 3500 cal diet:
Lift day:
Meal 1: Carb: 105g Protein: 70g
Meal 2(Hour before lift): Carb: 164g Protein: 55g
Meal 3(Right after lift): Carb: 164g Protein: 55g
Meal 4: Carb: 105g Protein: 70g
Meal 5(bedtime): Carb: 35g Protein: 52g
Non lift day:
Meal 1: Carb: 98g Protein: 66g
Meal 2: Carb: 98g Protein: 66g
Meal 3: Carb: 79g Protein: 53g
Meal 4: Carb: 79g Protein: 53g
Meal 5(bedtime): Carb: 26g Protein: 39g
Try to keep your foods in a 7gram ratio. Yes you will have to measure out your food. Try to get no more then 50gram of fat a day(not including fat from chicken/steak/fish/beans/any meat and also not including EFA's!). Another tip try to keep below 5000grams of sodium too. Remember simple carbs are best for pre and post work out meals to raise insulin levels and absorb protein faster.
Here's a sample diet(what i eat):
Keep protein and carbs within a 7 gram radious.
1 gram of carbs/protein equals 4 calories.
(Breakfast)Non-Workout Meal One(10:00am):
Goals: Carbohydrate - 136 grams
Protein - 90 grams
(1 Alive, 1 Royal Jelly, 1 Glucosamine, Udos, Wheat Grem and Lichin Granuals)
Food Carbohydrates Grams Protein Grams
1 1/2 scoop of whey 0 34
1/2 cup egg subsitute 0 24
3 cups of Skim milk 33 27
2 tbsp of peanut butter 12 8
5 pieces of wheat bread 75 0

Totals 140 90
Pre-Workout Meal(1:00pm):
Goals: Carbohydrate - 211 grams
Protein - 70 grams
(2 Bee Pollen and 1 Garlic)

This is a 4500 cal diet. On your non lift days you should do a 25% decrease.
Don't forget your fruits and vegetables and vitamins and minerals and EFA's! Hope this gives you some insight on diet. I don't feel like explaining everything.

the steroid misconseption kills me.
steroids, taken properly, while on a strict diet and workout regimine are no worse for you than smoking, weed, ect.
steroids are not for pussies, they are for the guys who have peaked naturally, and want that extra push. they are for people who devote tons of time to their body and lifestyle. they are for people who have medical conditions such as muscular distrophy and aids.
i speak from experience, and im sure i have the most on this board about this topic.
creatine and protein are essential to any workout regimine, but ill tell you this.
nothing, i repeat NOTHING you can buy over the counter, will even come a 10th as close to what steroids can do. i gained 55 lbs in 6 months. i never ached, i never was hurt, i woke up every morning feeling like a super heroe.
this takes a toll mainly on your wallet, moreso than anything else, i experienced no body acne, i rarely had a flamed temper, and all i saw was some mild water retention.
the scary part for most everyone is the injection. these needles are ------ big. and you have to have done plenty of research on hygiene, sterilization and proper injection teqnique before you bury " the cannon" into your ***.
the after effects of the steroids were, depression, soreness, lack of motivation, lost about 10-12 lbs of muscle mass. feel like ---- every day.
yes im still huge, and yes i still workout hard. but it is no comparison to a "juiced" workout. for those of you who say ney to roids, shut the ---- up until youve cycled.
would i ever take them again? most likely not.
cost is way high, they are more addicting than cocaine... yes i used to do that too.
frequent injection becomes very painful, and if you are caught with them its automatic 5 yrs in prison.
so, you make the choice.

I know the medical use of steriods and one of my friends who played football in highschool had to take steriods because of his shoulder surgery. Some people do have to take steriods because of there medical condition that i understand and have no problem with.
The point I was coming across to this kid is he not doing something right. A whole year an not even 5 pound gain? Something wrong here. I've been working out all my life and Im pretty confident that he not putting full dedication to eating, sleeping, and using the proper workout technique. Im not sure if he looking to just get bigger, stronger or what. But like how most new people on this forum in order to get something you want you have to do research.
I've never taken steriods and i've went from 144-190 in less than six months. I understand not everyone is the same and their geneitics are diff but he should have seen some gains if he been working out for a year. Right now im 5'9 210 pounds and i've been working out ever since i was 16. Its hard work its not easy i was skinny most of my life but i just kept trying and trying and never thought of using roids. I've been tempted to but Its just not something i want to do.
I understand people WILL have a hard time getting to were they want if they feel like they reached their limit but im pretty sure this kid wasn't doing anything right. took me 4 years to break the 150 weight he can wait just a little longer. Not everyone can get big over night. I bet if he had some help without using roids he'll see some gains.

Pro-Hormones are illegal now. If you get anything just get real gear. There is Superdrol by Designer Supplements. When that came out I thought it was so safe and all. "No PCT", is what most people did with short cylces of 3 weeks on 2 off for like 3 times in a row. I don't know now. Last time over at Anabolicminds.com I heard that they still had some nice sides. Hotrex gave EXCELLENT information, and he should, he's done them and I think he didn't miss a beat. The ups and the downs of post cycle. Not to mention, when you go to lift after you have juiced, it's not the same, your not moving your bench up 10lbs a week, but mearly 10lbs every 2 months. Good post, Josh.

First YOU should not use gear. You don't know enough about it, havn't been lifting long enough, and don't seem to have a strict ebough diet.
That being said, they are not all bad. If you do your research, eat right, take the right supps, get the right PCT, they can be realatively safe.
If I was you I would work on your diet. Eat 1.5 to 2 times your weight in grams of protein like if you weigh 200 lbs eat 300 grams of protein. take a whey protein shake with about 40-50 grams protein and about 75 grams high glycemic index carbs (dextrose) after work outs, take creatine before work outs or something like XPAND if you want some enegy, take lots of EFAs like fish oils and flax oil. eat a good amount of prtein and good fats before you o to bed. like cottage cheese and EFAs
If you want to loose weight just don't be a ----- dedicate yourself and run lots, but loosing weight is for girls and cars
