Stand up jet skis....
I just moved back down to college and I'm about 2 blocks away from the beach. Me and my room mate are thinking about picking up some stand up jet skis for the ocean....
I want to spend as little as possible... probably 5-800.
Any comments on old stand up jet skis? what breaks? good brands and crap brands?

The jet ski's you stand up on are all pretty old for the most part, you can prolly pick em up for a coupple hundred bucks. They need to be worked on almolst as much as you ride them. Jet ski's are a PITA to work on you donthave much room, but they are a BLAST!

Look for an old Yamaha Super jet. They can be bought fairly cheap and are fast and have potential to be faster. Kawasaki 650sx can be bought for dirt and they are pretty quick. I love stand-up jet skis. So much more fun than a sit down since you actually have to balance yourself and you can do more stuff other than just push the throttle and go. :1

Super Jets ------- blow.
Go find an '80's Kawasaki 550. We've been raping those for the past few years. One of my buddies has a '95 Kawa 650 with every aftermarket piece available and I'd have to say it was the fastest thing I have ridden on water.
