Just watch out for the old b13/nx trannies cause they have a notorious 5th gear popout and don't like too much abuse cause the case's are super duper weak.
GTi-R transmission is about as fragile as the stock B13 shitbox. The 5th gear popout isn't the real issue, IMO, because the whole 3rd/4th gearset is **** and fails under any amount of power. As far as casing, you just weld up reinforcement around the pass axle area and avoid wheelhop - good shocks and alignment is all that requires.

Have a P11 gearbox w/ VLSD going in the GTi-R Sentra Jason owns but I pretend is really mine, and I'm probably going to walk with the busted *** SE-R gearbox - haven't asked, but he'll probaby give it to me. I don't see why not. It'll get the B13 LSD dropped into a non-LSD P11/B15 fer cheap dude! and bolted to a NA SR20DE with homemadeturbo goodness in a classic SE-R. Little secret shh don't tell anybody okay the classic SE-R ECU is the same damn thing as the 54C/GTi-R unit after you flash it with the correct program, and those things are so simple to walk on it makes me want to cry - z32 MAF and huge injectors are pretty much plug and pray with the right maps spliced in. I've been discontented with the Honduh thing and the Honduh scene for a little while now - probably because I don't know any Nismotardriceboys yet - and a sub-$2000 car that hands immortal *** is entirely possible.

PS - I'm very impressed with Nissan FWD traction, using stock parts. Given the bugbear of beating an IRS into submission so that you can get a decent 60' time and not wheelhop, and the lighter weight of the Nissan FWD offerings, for any situation where you don't have $1.9 million dollars to drop in a $3000 car the FWD>RWD Nissans.
