The U.S. Navy has apparently been busy. They have been focusing heavily on the next generation of weapons and propulsion systems, including Microwave, Laser, and Electromagnetic-Kinetic weapons, more commonly known as railguns. What specifically surprised me was the fact that the Navy plans to deploy these systems as early as 2011, on their DD(X) frigates. The range of these rail guns is estimated to be over 250 miles

If regular citisens can make them, you can bet your behind the military is already finishing up the tests. Look at the F117.

Rail guns? Okay, has anybody here seen the Arnold flick, "Eraser"? The rail gun is kinda like that in a way. It's cool that they are finally putting these bad boys on. If I was the bad guys, I'd be shittin my pants.

my job in the Marine Corps is a Radio Operator. to put into perspective, Im the guy in all the war movies with the antenna out of my back, the guy always gettin shot at, knock out comm and your fucked.
right now though, im the generals driver. --Im gonna be till I get out. its a sweet job. (im on homemadeturbo.com all day long, unless he wants to go somewhere)
