some pictures to own hotrex's poop,& why i've been up for 30hrs(56k fist hotrex)
well, i found some low compression in two cylinders a little over a week ago, so saturday i tore everything down and found two broken ringlands, i was too busy the rest of the week to get it back together, so i went running around after work yesterday to pick up everything i needed (some misc. bullshit so i wouldn't have to run to the store in the middle of the operation), and got straight to work. i finished at 5am this morning and drove straight to work, where i sit right now wishing i was dead :P the pics....... btw, grand total for rebuild 40 bucks (was short one piston, so i had to pick one up from a shop)
all looks good from above, no scarring on the cylinders, but i gave them all a good hone anyways.

what i found upon removal of pistons (#2 and #3 in this condition)

the 'shitty little carport' as spenser would say, littered with parts, notice the oil pan once again i actually replaced it while i was in there, so, no more double tapped pan for me, i may sell it on ebay. also, notice how the intercooler is shoved behind the bumper support :P

intercooler fixed as well

my 'projekteg firewall kit', local machine shop sells earls fittings, so it only cost me 8 bucks and solved my leaky oil pressure gauge as well, as opposed to having the gauge and feed line crammed on the block fitting.

i didn't take any pics of the real 'process', i was by myself and just wanted to get the ---- done. i pulled a real 'jeff frank' rebuild. reused head gasket with copper spray, had a good piston laying around and bought another used one, quick hone job with block in the car, re used rings, re used oil pan/valve cover gasket i have a feeling it's gonna hold up really well, just one of those 'holy ----, i can't believe that thing's holding up' type of deals. putting it back together....

i cleaned a lot of ---- since my engine bay was trashed from driving for a day with no dp at all (covered in soot), as well as removed a bunch of factory clips/brackets i wasn't using any more, along with a bunch of emissions bullshit, also installed my fpr i had laying around.

all cleaned up and looking nice, the money shots!!!!.......

i'm glad i got the chance to clean everything up and fix all the bullshit i fucked up when i was so drunk doing my install. i wasn't happy with how things were after the install (looks anyways), but now i'm more than pleased with how it turned out. i drove to work this morning and took it kind of easy, no long boost pulls, but did boost quite a bit, and it feels much stronger than it did with two broken pistons :P my new slicks are in the trunk, i'll go snap a pic later, hopefully have em mounted by next thursday to run at the track again.

How are you gonna get the bumper cover to fit with the intercooler in the way? I have a wings west avenger bumper here for ya, painted red and everything.
