4psi? Why waste your time? People in the car? Why? Oh my. Sorry dude, I don't know why anyone would be with you in the car at the track. Take 'em for a ride on the streets and if they want to be on the track tell them to bring their own ride. As for 4 psi. Man, if your running conservative and rich anyway why wouldn't you be boosted a like 8psi-10psi and just go from there with tuning? Your choice I guess. Let us know how it goes when you get it all straightened out. Good luck.

George, I have the PLX M-300. I highly suggest you look into that for your friend.

Everything looks good. Get some shots up of the current setup without the resistor packs and such layin out to show the real beauty. Nice manifold by the way.

the svo turbos are .60/.63

if you are running a .48/.52 it is off a 86-87 thunderbird turbo coupe

eather way how did you gat the boost to go that low

the waste gate on the svo is set at 14psi and the thunderdird one is at 12psi?

you are correct about the svo turbo's being .60/.63's but you are incorrect about the turbo coupes. up to 86 they either had a .48/60 or the .63/60 the only difference between it and the svo was that it had a different compressor housing(discharge side had a flange on the non svo turbo's) the 87-88 had a IHI turbo. the turbo gt's, merkur xr4ti, capri rs, svo, and pre 87 turbo coupes all had garrett 60 trim t3's. some came with other size turbine housings like stated above. now the carb turbo was a different beast. I used an adjustable wastegate actuator from a volvo 13g turbo I had lying around, the wastegate housing is from some other garrett turbo I had lying around(which worked great with a standard 2.5" 3 bolt header flange.) do to fitament issues the wastegate actuator is mounted to the block with a bracket. I also ported the wastegate hole larger so he wouldn't run into creep issues. he has named his car frankenstine do to all of the different parts on the car. grayson I will try and get some more pictures when we both have time. he is supposed to send me a few external pictures so people can see it but he hasn't yet. yeah the plx-300 is a nice unit. I plan on getting one myself but I think getting him to spend $300 on a wb02 sensor when he olny paid 600 for the whole kit will be a hard task to accomplish.

on a side note if your not aware you can change turbine housings on garrett turbos as long as the turbine wheel is the same size. ie. if you had a .63/60 and you wanted better spoolup you could just put a .48 a/r turbine housing on it or if you wanted supra like useless dyno power you could put a .82 on it.

You can change exhaust housing even if the baldes arent the same size.
Just machine the exhaust housing.

George, how are you tuning it currently? I know you said Uberdata, but what are you going by? You're right about the price of it, but you can also make your own wideband with a display for pretty cheap. I'll see if I can find that link again.

If not, a one hour dyno session at Dynowerx would definitely be worth the money.

just ghetto tuning it using the narrow band and wot pulls in 4th then shutdown and check the plugs. PITA I haven't even touched the timing other than cleaning up the dips and where it was rasing timing to redline. big no no. I told him no more untill we get a wideband. he had a freind that had a fjo wideband controller but no sensor.

Lol what a similar story.
We did our firs 8 Valve Turbo to take down a Mr. Fancy pants I got all the goodies car.
We where 1.3 Ltr, 8 valve. They where 1.6 all the googies 16 valve head.

Id say you would need to run arrund 14 PSI pretty well dialed in in terms of AFR and timing.

Im intrested in how your managing the ignition timing to not go back.
