you're a cosigner for a reason they don't have you on the loan just so they can tell you when shea not paying it. The whole point is because she had shut credit and they needed someone else that can siphon the money from when she defaults. You can try to take her to small claims court and you won't need a lawyer I know in ct it only costs 35 bucks to file a claim. You'll still have to make the payments until then. If you win and she can't
Pay you can have her pay attached.

Do like Corey said, go to small claims and get a judgement against her. When she gets a house or other real property the judgement attaches itself to the deed and whenever it sells you get your money plus 8% interest - ------- solid investment right there.

I know first hand that even tho there is nothing that the military could do to the new hubby, it would sure put some fear in him to be asked by his First Sergeant why there are civilians calling the base about his wife's debts. It will either motivate him to pay you off, or beat you up.

That said, I really like the JD small claims court idea. You get to serve her *** with papers, present your case, and get a judgement against her. That's some serious satisfaction right there. Just make sure you have your documentation up to snuff, and be respectful of the judge. Best case is where she doesn't show up and you win by default. Don't forget to include the paper service fee included in the judgment.

I'd say you have a 50/50 chance winning in court. Depends on the judge really. Legally you are both equally responsible for the loan. There is a chance the judge will be sympathetic to your case and say she is actually responsible to pay you back some percentage. Again, it's completely the judge's discretion. I'd give the bitch a call or send her an e-mail. Do it nicely(the non-hmt way) at first. See where it gets you. Get meaner the more she ***** you. Don't do a call-a-thon or anything like that because if you go to court, you will look like a white trash piece of ----. Remember, if you are going to try to make a case, you have to look like the responsible adult and she has to look like an immature irresponsible dumb ***.
