Word. I eat tri-tip at least once a week. If it's a roast I'll cook it for about ~45min as low as the grill will go and at the coldest spot in the grill(in the front for mine). I flip it every 5 minutes and lather it up with my seasonings(A1 is the ------- greatest). If I'm just cooking strips of tri-tip I lather them and cook on high for about ~4 minutes each side. Gotta stay near the BBQ to listen for the noise of fire rising up. Don't wanna burn em.
