Why run a catch can when you can run a hose to the ground... Unless you like analyzing your caught oil.

So I could have fresh air vents and not smell oil. I thought it would be okay because I have seen other catchcans run with no ventalation straight to a closed container. I felt inside the inlet of the turbo and I felt oil, ha. Can you lose that much oil from turbo seals?

I always thought you were supposed to keep the PCV hooked up. So basically what JD is saying is that you should take the PCV valve out and vent both the valve cover and the one on the back of the block to the atmosphere?

if u do need to get the turbo rebuilt,...talk to a few of the rebuilder companies and see if u can have them send u a turbo and send urs back as a core...might be a little more expensive but if downtime is that important to you, might wanna give iit a shot

worn out turbine piston ring and bearings? Yep, time for a preventiive rebuild!
Replacing the turbo up front is great to avoid downtime and you should be able to find some rare turbo shops that do not charge any extra to do it.
