Ah, slightly different unit.

Good to know, though.

on .065 wall 35-40amps if the fit is great, if there are any gaps that need to be filled i usually back down to 30. for flanges (or anything 1/8" thick or more) 70amps is good

I was asking that thinking he had one of the Smiley/Mitec combo units, and wanted to know the power level at which he was getting away with 100% duty. Not knowing what unit you have, 'Tweek, and not knowing how long you weld without pause, doesn't tell me so much.

PS - LSD Mike's unit arrived today, got some sweet LSD shirts for the Spring Creek Raceteam as packing material.

so would the 2 pots work?

Like Dave said, make sure the ground circuit where ever you plug it in at is good. It kills them.

Sky's has some fusible links burned up, I suspect he might have exceeded the recommended duty cycle. Easily fixable.

when i weld, the welder doesn't get a break any longer than it takes for me to reposition, or align parts so... it had a full days worth of work on that one. i put it through the ringer

How much did it set you back, and was that the going price or a hookup?
