---- going to sleep, stay up as much as you can until you pass out. From then on stop drinking coffee at night. You have fucked up your circadian rythm and it needs to be reset. Just stay up until you can't any longer then go to bed at your regualr times from then on.

You actually sleep worse if you drink alcohol...youll fall asleep but you dont reach stage 4 sleep which is your deepest sleep and makes you feel rested when you wake up. Ambian and some antianxiety drugs like xanax promote stage 4 sleep which is why you feel great when you wake up.

I drink every night and I sleep great. I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow and I wake up feeling like a million bucks. The last week or so I have been downing Nyquil(because I'm sick)and I wake up feeling like a ------- zombie. I can hardly function for the first hour of being awake after taking that ---- at night. Bud light seems to do the trick for me.

When I was around 16-18 I did have trouble sleeping and I think it was stress related. I would just think about all kinds of ---- and worry about everything in the world. It would drive me nuts. I don't know what happened, but I got over it. Run around the block a few times before you go to bed, eat a big meal, drink a beer, RELAX. I have to have some sort of noise when I sleep too. I have the tv on all night just to make noise. I also use the fan, but it's too damn cold for that now.
