sellin a car without smogging it?, ca people
How do you sell a car without smogging it? What papers are you supposed to get or what are you supposed to do? cuz im sellin my black hatch without smogging it because the timing is wrong, has an old cat, no PCV, and no charcoal canister, so it wont pass, and i dont feel like bothering and getting everything to make it pass and im only sellin it for 2k anyway

sell it n state "as is" i sold my teg 1 month b4 registration/smog was due n told the new owner i didn't smog it yet n it was gonna need it. he said "its cool ill take care of it" so we stated in the bill of sale "as is" its been sold since june n i haven't heard back from him since.

dont worry about registering it as a non-op. it will cost the buyer more to get it registered rather than a title transfer.
just make a bill of sale stating selling as-is and new owner will smog. have him/her sign it.
i've never smogged cars i've sold.

From what I know, anytime a used car is sold, it has to have a smog cert. when re-registering/transfering title. I don't think as a seller it's your responsibility. Just make a note of it as is and that should cover you.
Sell it to me, shitbox.

smog is stupid. You don't have to provide a smog cert when you sell a car.... how do I know, of the 5 hondas I have sold, I have NEVER smogged one. Never smogged it while I was driving them and never smogged them when I sold them.
