telecine TC is a ***** with a camera
telesync TS is a ***** with a camera... and a direct audio source, like the boxes at the drive in...better quality generally but anything prior to, say, a maven TS or a well known release group tag on such a release is usually poopie.

TS or telesync is a camera, but it is often a very high quality camera that is shot directly from the projection booth. This is what distinguishes it from your regular "cam" bootleg where you can hear the audience and sometimes see people walking in front of the screen. You're correct about the direct audio source though.
TC or telecine is a machine that directly converts the reel of film to a digital format. Think of it as a scanner that goes directly on the film. It is the best way to get a bootleg copy of a movie currently in theaters. This almost always includes a direct sound source as well.
