I'd be is a lot different than I am or I was. My statement is still more than valid.

My whole point is obviously this guy has doubts about his ability to cope or his wanting to actually kill someone but he still wants a gun and the ability to protect his family. Simply pointing a gun is generally intimidating enough for most people to back down. Then knowing you can fire and not have to worry about killing someone could give him the extra confidence to fire in a situation where he would be less likely otherwise. This is a blessing and a curse. As we see now, cops are tazer crazy and will fire at just about anyone for any reason but the end result is, getting tazed is a lot better than getting shot.

I'd be is exactly the same as I am or I was, when I am speaking. I grew up in a shithole surrounded by crazy *** crack smoking ----------ers, and I've fucked up enough people in my life to know how I would emotionally/morally react if I had to put down a piece of human garbage in defense of myself or my family. There is quite a large range of offenses where an *** beating or the legal system does wonders, but if someone is breaking into my house while I or my family is there they are obviously there to hurt anyone who gets in their way, and I will not have my family be their victims when less than a dollar's worth of bullets eliminates the danger and makes the world a better place.

You do make valid points, they are just not points that apply to me.

I don't think I would ever like to live with the thought of killing someone. But I'd sure as ---- be happy to shoot them with rock salt, or pepper spray. Or generally anything which will ---- them up but leave me with a clear conscience.

Get a 12 gauge pump action and fill it full of rock salt and cat ----. Leave them in pain with infected ulcers all over their body. Make the last cartridge in the shotgun a heavy gauge steel shot, just in case the other rounds haven't put them off.

+1 I'm not out to hurt or kill anyone, but if the event arises that you are a direct threat to me or my friends/family it sucks for you. If someone broke in they would be dead, plain and simple. If you don't have respect for my property or my safety I don't have any for your life. There is a loaded 30-6 sitting in my closet now. I promise by time the cops got here they would have a weapon.
