i just beat my buddies type s from a 60 roll to about 110. and i didnt even redline it, had to shift at 7400 because of my gay *** auto ECU, and i hit the rev limit in 3rd and still took him by 3 cars

I owuld say the type S ove rthe jetta if both were stock. My buddy got his 1.8T GTI chipped, and that thing hauls. If the jetta is modded then I would say they would be even, witht the 1.8T pulling more at the end.

my boy has a 1.8t jetta (stock except for springs) and i let him drive my sisters type S and he says his car sucks *** compared to the acura so i guess that answers your question...the acura is growing on me since my sister has left it here for the past week, besides it being a total bitch car it's pretty quick

A chipped 1.8T and a stock ECU'd 1.8T are two different engines...
The 1.8T really gets like 40+hp from a chip, since the stock boost is only like 7psi. The Chip normally jacks it to 1bar ( 14.7psi ).
My friend has the GTi version and he walks all over RSXs ( type s of course the other aren't worth the gas ). He has the fully pimped interoir, BOV, APR Chip, and CAI.
I saw him flog a TypeS from a stop twice ( very hard ), and from a 45-130mph roll...
The jetta is heavier, uglier, and if its stock the RSX SHOULD own it.
Magizine "track times" are about as reliable as trying to get laid at the street races... Saw the new RX8 ( 14.5 via motortrend ) make 10pasts at the track ( from 6pm to 11pm ) and his BEST BEST BEST time all night was 15.6 ( which I was expecting since the RX8 is a POS ). I thinks its just another way the magizine gets paid a little more ( like Madza slipping a few grand under the door with a note saying "the RX8 runs 14.5, you can take are word for it". Madzaspeed protege ( owned by a guy I work with ) got spaked by a 4-door, automatic, non-vtec, I/H/E, zex 55shot, and 19'' inch rimmed HONDA ACCORD !!! Ummm... Yea, that's a car that runs 15.1... HAHAHA... WHat ever.
