However, if you look at the inlet side opposite the outlet porting the blockoff (to stop it from reverse flow) is nearly lined up with the center of the shaft. You may loose some efficiency, but it will work.
Anywya, if you want it to work perfect, why not an idler gear? You might even be able to run it off the water pump gear.

oh, i completely forgot to post.
i asked my autoshop teacher, and he couldn't get his head around the question of "WILL IT WORK: YES OR NO?" but yes, it will work. he kept asking me why you need an oil pump on a 2 stroke lol
