Removing bolts from exhaust manifold...HELP!
hey, I have a Neuspeed N2 Header on my 95 Integra LS. I was removing all of the bolts, trying to remove it so that I could bolt on my turbo manifold. However, 3 of the bolts were extremely stripped, they wont move! I attempted heating them w/ propane torch, etc...nothing seems to work! I cant cut them because then I will destroy the thread the bolts are on! Anyone else have this problem?? someone, HELP!

Take the next MM size down and beat the ****** on there and turn it. The same thing happened to me when I put my turbo on. I had the exact same post in the forum and Jeff told me to bang a size smaller on. Goodluck!

hi, yeah, I'm reffering to where the exhaust header attaches to the head. Thanks for the tip about banging on the next mm size down...How did it work out for you? How much time did it take to get each bolt off? thanks!

Re:Removing bolts from exhaust manifold...HELP!
if you have room take a circle grinder and grind new sides onto the head of the bolt... always works for me... and if you see something is gunna be a bitch.. take some kroil and let it sink it... kroil does wonders.

usually those nuts that hold the manifold to the head dont get rounded off unless u used the wrong size on them..
got any pics?
and if you cant get if off i guess your gonna have to cut them off and buy some need studs and put them in..

Re:Removing bolts from exhaust manifold...HELP!
SO I FINALLY GOT those damn bolts off! after about 5 hrs of trying!!
The solution was to heat them up, not with a normal propane torch but with a Mapp Gas/Oxygen Torch. That got the bolts cherry red, then I took those f'ers RIGHT off! I'm relieved. Thanks guys.

hmmm. Homemade extensions work great! I use a 3 foot piece of steel pipe for some effortless torque. NO BOLT on my car has stood up to it. Not recommended to use on ratchets. I've brocket ratchets, including the extensions pieces.
